St Albans, Melbourne: search for hit-run driver

A search for the driver who struck and abandoned a pedestrian in Melbourne’s northwest is underway, with police releasing CCTV of the moments surrounding the incident.

A woman was crossing the road at the intersection of McKechnie Street and Main Road East at about 10.50am on November 15 when she was struck by a white Nissan X-Trail SUV.

The driver of the Nissan, who had been travelling along Main Road East, stopped briefly to check on the 49-year-old Hillside woman before fleeing the scene.

She suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

On Thursday police released CCTV footage of a car they believe was involved in the incident.

Police have urged anyone with further information or who has dashcam footage or otherwise witnessed the collision, to contact Crime Stoppers.
