On Monday, the Panthers fired coach Frank Reich, less than a year into his tenure in Carolina. Making the challenge even more difficult for his replacement: The Panthers don’t own a first-round pick in 2024, despite their dismal season putting them in line for the No. 1 pick. At the moment, that selection would belong to Chicago, by virtue of last year’s trade that eventually brought Bryce Young to Carolina.

But one or two Panthers wins under interim Chris Tabor could shake up the top five come April, especially because Arizona and New England can’t string any victories together. Both of those teams figure to be underdogs each week the rest of the way, with New England’s Week 18 home game against the Jets a possible exception.

The order for picks 19-32 will be decided by playoff results — teams in those positions here are sorted by their current playoff seeding. Strength of schedule is the first tiebreaker, with priority going to the team that’s played an easier schedule.
