Natalie Portman on fake pregnancy rumours

September 2024 · 2 minute read

Despite being a celebrity having many perks, there are definitely some significant drawbacks, too.

Fake news reports circulate daily about celebrities, something that Natalie Portman has just called out. The actress took to Instagram Stories to address a false tabloid story that she "stepped out seemingly with a baby bump".

Portman responded and wrote: "Hey, so I’m totally not pregnant."

"But apparently it’s still okay in 2021 for anyone to speculate and comment on a woman’s body shape whenever they want?" she continued, reports Stylist. "Do better."

Towards the end of last year, the actress also addressed feeling unsafe after she was sexualised as a young girl during her acting career.

"I was definitely aware of the fact that I was being portrayed… as this Lolita figure," she said of the 1955 novel about a middle-aged professor's obsession with a 12-year-old girl.

"Being sexualised as a child, I think took away from my own sexuality because it made me afraid and it made me think the way I could be safe was to be like, 'I'm conservative,' and 'I'm serious and you should respect me,' and 'I'm smart,' and 'don't look at me that way,'" she explained on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast.
