Kristen Bell Leaves Frozen Voicemail for Little Girl With Cancer

Love is an open door…or a voicemail from the Princess of Arendelle! Kristen Bell got back into character as Frozen‘s Princess Anna to send a very special message to a young girl with cancer this week — and let’s just say you might want to have some tissues handy for this next part.

Avery Huffman, 6, was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Her parents have been documenting her journey via CaringBridge since last month, and one recurring theme — besides Avery’s obviously incredible fighting spirit — is the little girl’s love of the movie Frozen.

“We’ve probably watched or heard it over 200 times,” her dad, Brandon, wrote in his CaringBridge journal. “I’ve sang my share of duets of ‘Love Is an Open Door’ with Avery while watching numerous performances of ‘Let It Go,’ ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman,’ and ‘For the First Time in Forever.'”

According to Brandon, Avery’s favorite Frozen character is the one voiced by Bell, who just happens to know a friend of the family.

Upon hearing Avery’s story, the House of Lies actress, 35, recorded an audio message — in Princess Anna’s voice, natch — for the friend to pass along. In it, she praises Avery for being “so brave,” and even names the little girl an honorary Princess of Arendelle.

Brandon, the National Director of Recruiting for Scout.com, shared the video of Avery listening to the message on YouTube. Watch it above!
